Dr. Laura Harrison hails from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada where she completed a Bachelor of Music at Capilano University and a Bachelor of Education degree at UBC (the University of British Columbia) to become a high school teacher. Laura finished her Master of Music at USC in 2002 and her Doctorate of Music in Jazz Studies in 2007.

She has been pursuing a dual career in classical music as a mezzo-soprano and has made quite a reputation for herself in that field. She has been a member of the Pacific Chorale and John Alexander Singers since 2001 and a member of "de Angelis Vocal Ensemble" since 2006.

As of 2010, Laura became the "Artist in Residence" at Irvine High School. In August of 2010, she debuted her first jazz CD that has been played in forty-three states and thirteen countries, climbing to #18 on the CMJ Jazz National Chart. Her heaviest radio play areas are fourteen stations in the greater New York City area, followed by Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Memphis Tennessee. She is in demand as a vocalist, private voice instructor, and educator throughout the Los Angeles and Orange County areas. Dr. Harrison has recently returned to the Cypress College Music Department where she teaches choir, private voice, group voice, and music theory.

2014 is a big year for Dr. Harrison. She has begun work on her second album with John Proulx (Grammy award-winning composer), Edwin Livingston (Natalie Cole's bassist), Josh Nelson (Natalie Cole's pianist and music director), Larry Koonse (Cleo Laine's and Billy Child's guitarist) and Jimmy Branly (Doc Severinsen's regular drummer and recently recorded a special at the White House with Gloria Estefan, Christina Aguilera, and Ricky Martin). In her "spare time" Laura is writing a music theory book entitled, "Enjoying Music Theory" with an accompanying website that is set to launch this year. She has been asked to record an EP (extended play) record featuring her and a pianist performing classical music which she hopes to release this summer.
